Stuart was born and raised on a small orchard in Orondo, WA and graduated from Cascade Christian Academy in Wenatchee, WA. He went on to graduate with honors from Gonzaga University in Spokane, WA with a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration, focusing on Operations and Business Management.
Stuart then went on to work with Providence Health and Services in the Perioperative Division, culminating in his role as Director of Business Operations for Perioperative Services for Providence Eastern Washington. Though he loved the mission of Providence, family has always come first, and he resigned his position at the end of 2014 to follow his dream of being a dad, and working collaboratively with his close friend Melissa Murphy at Prime Real Estate and creating one of the best boutique brokerages in Spokane.
Together with his business partner Chelsea McFarland, they Founded McFarlandPrey Real Estate at the end of 2018, which hangs its license under Prime Real Estate. Chelsea and Stuart really wanted to focus on a seamless customer experience, and leverage their expertise in business development, marketing, technology, and authentic care to bring the highest level of service possible. Stuart is blessed to have been one of Primes (and Spokane’s) top agents every year since 2014 and really credits that to the referrals he has gotten from those that have trusted him and his empathy through the selling and buying process.
In his off time Stuart loves to spend time with his best friend and wife Kristin. Together they have two incredible children, Owen and Declan, and a hyperactive fur baby named Myrtle. Hiking, BBQ’ing, Traveling, and spending time exploring or being outside and seeing the culture around the Greater Spokane area is what enriches their lives together. Stuart also currently sits as a Board Member for the Providence Healthcare Foundation of Eastern Washington, is chair of the Grants Allocation Committee for the foundation, and is a member of the Children’s Health Council for the Sacred Heart Children’s Hospital.
